Jammu Police have successfully resolved the case of the abduction and murder of Mangal Singh, a cab driver from Jammu, by apprehending a gang of interstate criminals from Ratia Fatehbad, Haryana, authorities confirmed. Mangal Singh's body was found in the Bajalta Morh area in Nagrota following the gang's disclosure.

The investigation began when Singh's brother reported him missing on August 19, 2024, after he failed to return from Katra. By August 21, suspicions of abduction had intensified, leading to the filing of FIR No. 228/2024 under Section 140 BNS, based on CCTV footage evidence.

A team led by SHO Nagrota and SHO Jhajjar Kotli, under SP Rural Jammu's supervision, meticulously reviewed CCTV footage and call records, which provided a critical lead. This prompted police to conduct raids in Sirsa, Haryana, with local police and counter-intelligence assistance, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspects.

The gang had conspired in Katra to abduct Singh and subsequently murdered him near Bajalta before disposing of his body. Singh's body was recovered in the presence of his family and local leaders. After a postmortem, the body was returned to his family for last rites, police stated. (ANI)
