An alleged case of animal cruelty has been reported in Telangana's Rangareddy district, leading to the arrest of the accused. The incident was brought to light by animal activist Mudavath Preethi, who detailed the brutal act in a formal complaint.
According to the complaint lodged on August 22 at Moinabad Police Station, the accused tied a stray dog to an electric pole by its neck and brutally beat it with metal wires. The activist revealed that the accused subsequently tied the dog's lifeless body to his bike, dragged it, and discarded it in a nearby agricultural field.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed under Section 325 of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Section 11 (1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Mudavath Preethi, an activist for the Stray Animal Foundation of India, stated that the complaint was based on information received from local resident Kranthi. The activist emphasized the urgent need for stronger enforcement of animal protection laws.
