Ukraine's Navy Sinks Key Russian Ferry in Kavkaz Port Strike

Ukraine's Navy announced the successful destruction of a ferry in the Russian port of Kavkaz. This ferry was vital for delivering fuel and weapons to Crimea, a region occupied since 2014. The attack, part of Kyiv's ongoing efforts against Russian infrastructure, has rendered the port unusable until the ferry is cleared.

Ukraine's Navy confirmed on Friday the successful destruction of a ferry in the Russian port of Kavkaz. This ferry was crucial for delivering fuel and weapons to occupied Crimea, according to Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk.

Local authorities had earlier reported that the ferry was set ablaze and severely damaged during Thursday's strike on the port in Russia's southern Krasnodar region. Pletenchuk stated, "Another undoubtedly military objective has been destroyed. Its purpose was to provide fuel for the invaders. The ferry sank and this port (Kavkaz) is not usable until the ferry is removed."

The ferry, which accounted for three-quarters of all logistics and was carrying 30 fuel tanks, sustained significant damage. This operation is Kyiv's latest strike on Russian territory as the war in Ukraine continues.
