Ukraine's military announced on Thursday that it had successfully targeted an artillery depot and two oil storage facilities in Russia. The strikes resulted in a fire on Wednesday at the Atlas oil depot located in Russia's southern Rostov region.

The military also confirmed it had attacked the Zenit oil facility in Russia's Kirov region, approximately 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) northeast of the border with Ukraine. Additionally, a field artillery depot in the Voronezh region was hit, according to statements posted on the Telegram app. Russian officials stated that Ukrainian drones were responsible for the fire at the Rostov oil depot, with no casualties reported. Kirov's regional governor, Alexander Sokolov, confirmed a drone attack on an oil depot in Kotelnich but noted that there were no fires or injuries.

In Voronezh, which shares a border with Ukraine, Governor Alexander Gusev reported that debris from a Ukrainian drone caused a fire near explosive objects, which did not detonate. Kyiv asserts that these attacks are directed at crippling energy, transport, and military infrastructure critical to Russia's war campaign. Both conflicting parties deny targeting civilians in this prolonged 30-month conflict, initiated by Russia's extensive invasion of Ukraine.
