Russia's Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday an additional 92 Americans to its list of individuals banned from entering the country. The new additions include prominent journalists, law enforcement officers, and business figures.
The ministry stated that the bans were a response to what it calls the 'Russophobic course' pursued by the Biden administration, with the aim of strategically defeating Moscow. Among the journalists banned are 11 current or former staff members of the Wall Street Journal, including its Editor in Chief, Emma Tucker, who has been vocal about Russia's imprisonment of WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich.
Others on the list include five New York Times journalists, four from The Washington Post, as well as individuals from law enforcement agencies, academia, and think tanks. The total number of Americans banned from Russia now exceeds 2,000, according to the ministry.
