The Supreme Court has formed a National Task Force to recommend measures for the safety of medical professionals.

West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose has inaugurated a mobile control room to manage the ongoing protests related to the alleged rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Numbers 03322001641 and 92890 10682 have been set up for this purpose, as announced on social media by Kolkata Raj Bhavan Media Cell.
The Governor made the first call to the victim's father, offering his support and condolences. A video of this interaction was also posted online. The Supreme Court has formed a 10-member National Task Force to develop recommendations for preventing violence and ensuring safe working conditions for medical professionals. The task force is required to submit an interim report within three weeks and a final report in two months.
Governor Bose criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, citing its failure to protect women in the state. He stated that the administration needs to restore a safe and respectable environment for women. The Governor plans to meet Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the situation further.
The trainee doctor's alleged rape and murder on August 9 has incited nationwide protests from the medical community. On August 14, a mob vandalized the protest site and hospital campus, leading to intervention by security personnel.
