Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed his condolences following the death of Justice V P Mohan Kumar, who served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. In a heartfelt message, Vijayan lauded Justice Kumar's efforts in promoting human rights literacy and safeguarding citizens' rights.

Justice Mohan Kumar was well-known for his landmark judgments that often favored the underprivileged. His social initiatives, such as reducing the weight of school bags, set him apart. During his tenure as Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, his directives brought a fresh perspective to human rights issues. Justice Kumar passed away in Ernakulam on Sunday evening at the age of 84.

Furthermore, Justice Kumar also led the inquiry commission investigating the Kalluvathukkal illegal liquor disaster, demonstrating his dedication to justice. (ANI)
