Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has expressed his condolences over the passing of Justice V P Mohan Kumar, who served as Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. In his message, Vijayan highlighted Justice Kumar's dedication to human rights literacy and enforcement.
Justice V P Mohan Kumar was renowned for his judgements that significantly benefited the poor. His social interventions, including reducing the weight of school bags, garnered widespread attention. As Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, his rulings marked new directions on human rights issues. Justice Kumar passed away in Ernakulam on Sunday evening at the age of 84.
Justice Kumar also served on the inquiry commission investigating the Kalluvathukkal illegal liquor disaster. (ANI)
