Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) have accused activists from the Students Federation of India (SFI) of making derogatory comments about the Indian Army on Saturday night at Delhi University (DU). According to the ABVP, about 50 students, including some reportedly from outside DU, were present on campus.

Aprajita, a member and Secretary of the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU), described the gathering as disruptive, particularly during ongoing exams for the Law Faculty. "The noise distracted students studying nearby in the library," she said. ABVP condemned the remarks as "anti-national" and insulting to the Indian Army, further accusing leftist groups of promoting an anti-national agenda while ignoring issues like the alleged mishandling of women's safety by the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government.

Aprajita claimed that SFI members gathered near the statue of Vivekananda and raised objectionable slogans. She asserted that these individuals were not from the campus but had arrived from outside. The police intervened, and ABVP plans to file a formal complaint. SFI, however, accused ABVP of conducting a smear campaign and spreading misinformation, stating their protest aimed to address rape culture and violence against women. SFI emphasized their longstanding commitment to women's safety on and off-campus, criticizing the ABVP-led DUSU for remaining silent on these issues.
