In a statement on social media platform X, SpearCorps. Indian Army announced that Lt Gen Pendharkar interacted with Manipur's Chief Minister, N Biren Singh, to discuss current security concerns and strategies for maintaining peace and stability. Meanwhile, on August 2, the Chinar Corps Commander evaluated the security status in Kupwara and Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chinar Corps Commander's visit to forward posts in the districts of Kupwara and Baramulla aimed to review operational readiness. He emphasized the importance of vigilance and effective countermeasures against any hostile actions along the Line of Control (LC). This visit followed a recent incident where two to three armed intruders from Pakistan crossed the LC into Machhal Sector, resulting in a firefight that left one intruder dead and an Indian soldier fatally wounded.

According to the Public Relations Officer (Defence) in Srinagar, the Pakistani personnel took advantage of bad weather and low visibility to cross into Indian territory and fire upon an Army post. Alert Indian troops responded vigorously, leading to the death of one intruder and recovery of weapons and ammunition.
