Congress leader MB Patil has accused the BJP of 'bad politics' following Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision to approve the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam. Patil argued that the decision is part of a broader conspiracy orchestrated by the BJP.

'The Governor is merely a puppet of the central government, and the Raj Bhavan has become an extension of the BJP office. This move against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah under the pretext of the MUDA scam is nothing more than a politically motivated conspiracy,' Patil asserted.

He pointed out that when activist TJ Abraham filed a complaint against the CM, state officials had provided ample information to dismiss the allegations. 'Despite this, the Governor hastily issued a notice to Siddaramaiah, raising serious doubts about his intentions. His current actions are undesirable and are unlikely to be tolerated by the people of Karnataka,' Patil added.

Patil also highlighted discrepancies in the Governor's actions, noting pending requests for prosecution against other political figures like HD Kumaraswamy and Sasikala Jolla. 'At the time, only BJP leaders were present in the MUDA meeting. This entire situation is a conspiracy to victimize the Chief Minister,' Patil said.

According to Raj Bhavan sources, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot today granted permission to prosecute CM Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA scam. In response, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that the state government will support Siddaramaiah. Previously, a complaint was lodged by social activist Snehamayi Krishna against Siddaramaiah and nine others for allegedly forging documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).
