Cloudburst Triggers Chaos in Himachal Pradesh's Taklech Area

A cloudburst and resultant flooding late Friday night caused significant disruptions in the Damrali Nallah area of Himachal Pradesh. Officials reported road damage and impacted mobile towers. Despite the severity, there were no casualties or major property damage. Authorities are actively monitoring the situation and recovery operations are underway.

A cloudburst followed by severe flooding caused major disruptions late Friday night in the Damrali Nallah area of Taklech sub-tehsil in Himachal Pradesh's Rampur sub-division. Officials reported damage to approximately 30 metres of road and nearby mobile towers.

Fortunately, no loss of life or significant property damage was reported. Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi confirmed receiving information about the incident around 9 PM.

On receiving the news, Shimla Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nishant Tomar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Naresh Sharma quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi and Shimla District Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap also visited Taklech to gather first-hand information and oversee recovery efforts. In another related incident, the road near Nigulsari Sliding Point on Shimla-Kinnaur Highway (NH-5) caved in, halting traffic.
