Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Naresh Mhaske has launched a sharp critique against Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray for his opposition to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. Mhaske alleged that Thackeray's stance is influenced by indebtedness to Muslims for their overwhelming support.

In a video released by the Shiv Sena on Friday, Mhaske, who represents Thane in the Lok Sabha, accused Thackeray of betraying the principles and vision of Balasaheb Thackeray by criticizing the Ram Janmabhoomi temple land development. He recounted Balasaheb's firm opposition to the Waqf Board and his advocacy for its dissolution.

Mhaske's comments follow Thackeray's promise at a rally not to allow any religious property, under the Waqf Board or any temple, to be touched. Thackeray clarified that the issue spans beyond the Waqf Board to include temples, citing the theft of 200 kg of gold from Kedarnath as an example that needs investigation.
