In a significant operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) apprehended three Myanmar nationals at Agartala Railway Station on Friday morning, officials confirmed. The detainees have been identified as Kamal Hussain (27), ostensibly involved as a tout, alongside two women, Rashida (20) and Ajida (19).
Authorities disclosed that all three individuals are from Rohingya camps located in the Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh. Specifically, Kamal Hussain hails from Jamtala Camp No. 17, Rashida from Kanchipara Camp No. 22, and Ajida from Musuni Camp No. 26. A formal case has been lodged against them at the GRP Station in Agartala, with ongoing investigations to ascertain their mode of arrival and intended destination in India.
The arrests have heightened concerns about the activities and movements of undocumented migrants within the region, as stated by officials. This incident follows a July operation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway, which resulted in the capture of 47 illegal migrants and five Indian agents across various stations in June.
