In the midst of election preparations in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction is expressing a keen interest in contesting crucial seats in Pune. These include Khadakwasla, Wadgaon Sheri, and Hadapsar, known for the party's strong organizational presence.
Currently, BJP holds five of the eight seats in Pune, with representatives in constituencies like Parvati, Kothrud, and Shivajinagar. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar's NCP has its members in Wadgaon Sheri and Hadapsar.
Pramod Bhangire, Shiv Sena's Pune president, highlighted their intent by emphasizing the party's strong foothold and substantial cadre strength in the city. He urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to consider their claim as talks for a seat-sharing formula continue.
