Shiv Sena Eyes Key Seats in Pune Amid Election Talks

As election talks intensify in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde is keen on contesting three critical seats in Pune: Khadakwasla, Wadgaon Sheri, and Hadapsar, where the party asserts a strong presence. Discussions on seat-sharing with BJP and NCP are underway.

In the midst of election preparations in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction is expressing a keen interest in contesting crucial seats in Pune. These include Khadakwasla, Wadgaon Sheri, and Hadapsar, known for the party's strong organizational presence.

Currently, BJP holds five of the eight seats in Pune, with representatives in constituencies like Parvati, Kothrud, and Shivajinagar. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar's NCP has its members in Wadgaon Sheri and Hadapsar.

Pramod Bhangire, Shiv Sena's Pune president, highlighted their intent by emphasizing the party's strong foothold and substantial cadre strength in the city. He urged Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to consider their claim as talks for a seat-sharing formula continue.
