External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has held discussions with Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Advisor, Touhid Hossain, focusing on the bilateral ties between the two nations. The meeting took place in New York during the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In a post on social media platform X, Jaishankar noted the significance of this meeting, particularly as it was the first encounter since an interim government, led by Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus Khan, assumed power in Bangladesh following the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar also met with representatives from the G4 countries—Brazil, Germany, India, and Japan—reaffirming their collective commitment to expediting reforms of the United Nations Security Council.
