Punjab Governor and UT Chandigarh Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, convened a review session focusing on central development projects and welfare schemes with senior IAS officers at Punjab Raj Bhawan on Tuesday. During this introductory session, he stressed his intermediary role in fostering Punjab's development through Centre-State collaboration.

Kataria highlighted the necessity of collective efforts to maximize the outreach of welfare schemes, pledging full support towards this cause. He announced that periodic reviews of these projects and schemes would be implemented. Emphasizing the need for close coordination with State Government officials, Governor Kataria stated, "For the proper implementation of public welfare schemes and to ensure that central development projects reach the grassroots level, it is crucial to work in close coordination with State Government functionaries."

He urged officers to minimize public inconvenience in government offices by allocating specific times for public interactions on working days. Furthermore, Kataria encouraged state officials to maintain regular contact with central authorities to expedite approvals for development proposals and assured his support in overcoming any obstacles. The newly appointed governor reiterated his dedication to his role, emphasizing the importance of his position in serving the public, stating, "These positions are not merely ceremonial; they are meant for serving the people."
