Russia launched 38 attack drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine overnight, damaging power lines, gas pipelines, and civilian infrastructure across various regions. Russia launched 38 attack drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine overnight, Ukraine's air force announced on Tuesday.
According to the statement on the Telegram app, thirty of these drones were intercepted and destroyed over eight regions of Ukraine. However, the fate of the remaining drones and missiles remains unclear. Regional authorities in Sumy reported that the assault injured one person and caused significant damage to a power line and a gas pipeline, leaving some residents without electricity and gas.
Additionally, a hospital building and several cars were damaged in the region, highlighting the increasing intensity of Moscow's attacks in the north since Ukraine's incursion into Russia's Kursk province.
In Chernihiv, governor Vyacheslav Chaus confirmed attacks on civilian infrastructure but noted there were no casualties. Meanwhile, national grid operator Ukrenergo reported that energy infrastructure in the region had been targeted but assured that power restoration efforts for industrial and household consumers are ongoing.
Russia maintains its stance that these attacks exclusively target military-relevant sites.
