Russian Shelling in Ukraine's Sumy Region Kills One, Injures Four

One civilian was killed and four others were injured as Russian shelling struck Ukraine's Sumy region overnight, according to the local Ukrainian administration on Sunday.
The administration reported that Russian forces carried out 18 separate shellings on border territories and settlements in the Sumy region, recording a total of 47 explosions. Nine districts were reportedly targeted.
In a later update, local prosecutors revealed Russia launched a missile attack on a convoy of grain trucks traveling along the Sumy-Kharkiv route, killing a 23-year-old truck driver. One truck caught fire, and approximately 20 others were damaged.
In a separate statement, Ukraine's air force announced it had destroyed eight out of eleven Russian attack drones deployed overnight. The drones were said to have targeted Ukrainian grain and agricultural logistics in the regions of Mykolaiv and Sumy.
The Sumy region, which borders Russia's Kursk region, has been the site of recent cross-border incursions by Ukrainian forces. Meanwhile, Russian troops continue their advance towards the strategic hub of Pokrovsk in Eastern Ukraine.
