Overnight Russian attacks have caused significant damage in the Sumy region, injuring at least nine people, local authorities reported on Friday. The airstrike on the northeastern city of Sumy triggered a fire, prompting officials to issue a warning for residents to stay indoors and close all windows.
Meanwhile, a drone attack targeted an industrial facility in the Poltava region, although no casualties were reported, according to regional governor Filip Pronin. The Ukrainian air force successfully intercepted 12 out of 18 drones launched by Russia, with four more drones landing on Ukrainian soil.
In addition to drones, Russia employed an Iskander-M missile during the assault. The situation remains tense as the authorities continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
