As persistent rains batter parts of Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma convened a crucial meeting with officials at the Chief Minister's Office on Sunday to immediately strengthen disaster management measures. CM Sharma has also urged residents to steer clear of waterlogged areas and avoid using basements during the downpours.

In a post on X, CM Bhajanlal Sharma stated, "Today, a meeting was held with the officials regarding the heavy rains in the state at the Chief Minister's Office and necessary guidelines were given to strengthen all the arrangements related to disaster management immediately. I appeal to all the citizens of the state to stay away from waterlogged areas, maintain distance from electric poles and wires during rains, avoid using basements of buildings and pay special attention to the warnings and safety measures issued by the Disaster Management Department." He further requested people to take essential precautions and prayed for their safety.

Several areas in Rajasthan, including Gangapur City, have experienced severe waterlogging due to intense rainfall over the past three days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), more downpours are predicted for certain regions in the upcoming week.

The met department forecasted heavy to very heavy rain in the divisions of Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur on Sunday, with wet weather conditions expected to last for the next five to seven days.

Western Rajasthan's Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions may also see moderate to heavy rain, with some areas in the Shekhawati region at risk of heavy rainfall over the next five to six days.
