DRI Cracks Down on Smuggling Syndicate at Lucknow Airport, Arrests Six

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, has apprehended six individuals allegedly connected to a smuggling syndicate operating through Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSI), according to an official statement released on Friday.
The arrested individuals comprise two passengers, two members of the ground staff, the alleged mastermind behind the smuggling operation, and his accomplice.
During the operation, officials seized 3 kg of smuggled gold valued at USD 213,000, along with 6,440 Thai Baht and INR 1,00,000, which together have a total estimated value of Rs 3.96 crore. All six syndicate members have been detained under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, the release noted. (ANI)
