The Delhi Police Crime Branch has exposed a transnational organ transplantation racket with operations stretching between Bangladesh and India. Senior officials revealed that the accused manipulated hospital processes and enlisted the help of medical professionals and translators.

Police uncovered that 35 transplants were conducted in two hospitals, but the verification of documents by hospital authorities remains under investigation. The accused created fake letterheads from hospitals in Bangladesh, altering only the email addresses to facilitate communication and avoid hacking challenges. They trained donors and recipients to respond in Bengali to mitigate language barriers during panel interviews.

A translator played a crucial role in the scheme, delivering false information to the interview panels regardless of patients' actual answers. The Delhi Police Crime Branch, having arrested seven involved individuals—including a female doctor—continues to receive leads and may seek information from the Bangladesh embassy. As of now, verifying the submitted documents is a priority before further action is taken against the accused.
