India and Germany Hold Strategic Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi

The India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations held in New Delhi reviewed bilateral relations and discussed regional and global issues. The India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) were held in New Delhi, confirmed the Ministry of External Affairs. Regional and global issues dominated the discussions, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Dr. Thomas Bagger, State Secretary of the German Foreign Office, on July 15.

During the visit, Dr. Bagger also met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane. Both nations conducted a comprehensive review of their bilateral relations, emphasizing trade, investment, science and technology, defense, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that both sides committed to deepening ties in areas such as emerging technologies, renewable energy, and extending development cooperation to third countries. The discussions also reflected on enhancing the strategic partnership, and anticipation for the 7th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) scheduled in New Delhi.

The MEA statement noted mutual satisfaction with the FOC outcomes and recognized the importance of the forthcoming Asia-Pacific Conference of German Businesses. Both sides agreed to work towards the success of the upcoming IGC.
