Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan asserted that no other state government has made an intervention in the film industry akin to Kerala's Justice Hema Committee. This was possible primarily due to the presence of the Left government in the state, he stated.
Individuals who previously gave statements or have yet to do so can file complaints with the police, which will be thoroughly examined, he said. Referring to the brutal rape and murder of a woman doctor in West Bengal, Vijayan highlighted the national debate on women's security.
The CM criticized the release and reception of the accused in the Bilkis Bano case, emphasizing Kerala's commitment to ensuring women's safety through precise policies. He noted that other states with similar or better film industry facilities have yet to make interventions like the Hema panel, sparking demands for similar panels in various regions.
