Wolf Attack in Madhya Pradesh: Family Injured, Neighbors Chase Away Predator
Five family members in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh were attacked by a wolf early Friday morning. Neighbors intervened, chasing the wolf away. In a disturbing incident, five members of a family in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, were attacked by a wolf early Friday morning, according to officials.
The attack occurred at around 2:30am in Malgaon village, Khalwa tehsil, about 20 kilometers from the district headquarters, as confirmed by Harsud Sub Divisional Officer of Police, Sandeep Vaskale. Once the family began shouting for help, neighbors arrived and managed to chase the wolf away. The victims, comprising a woman with hand wounds and four men bitten on their hands, are currently receiving medical treatment at Khandwa Medical College Hospital.
Divisional Forest Officer Rakesh Damor reported that the injured have been administered rabies shots and are also being given other medical treatments. The current status of the wolf, whether it has been captured, remains unknown.
This alarming event follows a series of fatal wolf attacks in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, which have recently captured national attention. Over the past two months, Bahraich has seen eight fatalities, including seven children, and nearly three dozen injuries in wolf attacks, as per local officials.
