A tragic wolf attack in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich has resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl and injuries to two women, igniting anger among locals who blame the administration for negligence. The incident occurred amidst 'Operation Bhediya,' an ongoing effort to capture the remaining wolves.

DFO Bahraich, Ajit Pratap Singh, is currently leading the search operation in Thalia village. The mother of the deceased child recounted the harrowing event, stating that her daughter was attacked around 3:35 am on Monday. Neighbors have also reported multiple sightings of the wolf, but claim their calls to the forest department were met with demands for video proof.

District Magistrate Monika Rani acknowledged the difficulty in capturing the elusive wolf as it frequently changes its habitat. She urged residents to remain indoors and vigilant. 'We have captured four wolves; two are still at large. Our team is patrolling continuously,' Rani stated. The forest department is also using drones and firecrackers to aid in the mission.
