A two-storey house in Ballabgarh, Faridabad succumbed to heavy rains, resulting in its collapse on Thursday, authorities reported. Fortunately, the residents evacuated in time after noticing rainwater leaks and structural cracks.
The house sheltered four brothers—Shravan, Biru, Sanjit, and Rohtash—alongside their families in Chandpur village. Early Thursday morning, the family awoke due to the heavy downpour, intending to feed their animals. Observing water filling the interior and cracks appearing, they rapidly exited the premises with their children, escaping the subsequent collapse unscathed.
All belongings were buried and destroyed within the ruins. The family, categorized under Below Poverty Line (BPL), works as labourers. Village sarpanch Surajpal alias Bhura detailed the household's composition, while Block Development and Panchayat Officer of Tigaon, Ajit Singh, mentioned plans to include the family in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to seek governmental aid.
