Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has vociferously criticized the Eknath Shinde-led government for alleged corruption following the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's statue.

The 35-foot statue, commemorating the 17th-century Maratha empire founder and unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rajkot fort in Sindhudurg, fell on Monday afternoon. Dismissing the government's claim that gusty winds led to the statue's collapse as the 'height of shamelessness,' Thackeray addressed these concerns in a press conference alongside NCP (SP) president Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole.

Thackeray announced a Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) protest march, scheduled to proceed from Hutatma Chowk to the Gateway of India in south Mumbai on September 1. He condemned those obstructing the MVA's morcha in Malvan, deeming them traitors to the legacy of the warrior king.
