In a significant move, Kangana Ranaut has unveiled the first track 'Singhasan Khali Karo' from her eagerly awaited political drama 'Emergency.' Sharing the news on her Instagram story, Kangana treated fans to a video of the song.

Reviving the historic anthem 'Singhasan Khali Karo Ki Janta Aati Hai,' originally penned by legendary poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, this powerful track resonates through one of India's darkest political chapters. The song, composed by Maestro G.V. Prakash Kumar with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir, features the vocal talents of Udit Narayan, Nakash Aziz, and Nakul Abhyankar.

Commenting on the track, Kangana elaborated, "In the 1970s, 'Singhasan Khali Karo' emerged as a rallying cry against the oppressive regime of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. The words of poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar were immortalized by Jayaprakash Narayan in his call for Total Revolution, shaking the foundations of power and inspiring a new political era. Collaborating with G.V. Prakash on this song has brought this revolutionary spirit back to life." Music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar added that creating the song was a journey into the revolutionary ethos of the 1970s, made special by the contributions of lyricist Manoj Muntashir and the vocal trio of Udit Narayan, Nakash Aziz, and Nakul Abhyankar.

'Emergency,' directed by Kangana Ranaut herself, features an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. The film chronicles the era when a state of emergency was declared in India in 1975, with Ranaut portraying former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The film's recently released trailer offers a glimpse into Indira Gandhi's formative political years, her relationships, and her confrontations with political upheavals. It touches upon significant events such as the Emergency period, the Shimla Agreement, the rise of the Khalistan movement, and the JP Andolan. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, 'Emergency' promises to be a riveting portrayal of a pivotal chapter in India's political landscape.

With screenplay and dialogues by Ritesh Shah and a music score by Sanchit Balhara, 'Emergency' aims to enthrall audiences with its depiction of historical events. (ANI)
