BJP national spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam on Wednesday paid tribute to renowned musician Bismillah Khan at his grave in Varanasi, representing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who represents the constituency in the Lok Sabha.
Islam, a former MP, revealed that a newly constructed mausoleum was opened to the public to honor the celebrated shehnai player on his death anniversary. A memorial event was held to pay respects to him. Khan, a legendary figure in Indian classical music, died in 2006 at the age of 90.
