Mumbai Ganesh Mandal Recreates Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Grand Festival

The Bandra West Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal in Mumbai has unveiled a 52-foot replica of the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial for this year's Ganesh festival. The recreation has drawn significant public attention as the festival began on Saturday.
Renowned for its meticulous replicas of famous religious sites, the mandal has previously recreated Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple, Kedarnath temple, Lord Vitthal temple, Pashupatinath temple, Sai Samadhi Mandir, and Goa's Shri Mangesh temple. Last year, the focus was on Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar temple.
Mumbai BJP president and MLA Ashish Shelar, the mandal's chief advisor, highlighted the special lamps sourced from Hyderabad to attract younger audiences. Celebrating its 29th year, the mandal, located in Bandra Reclamation, sees participation across various communities and draws high-profile visitors from films, sports, politics, and social sectors. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial stands on two rocks 500 meters from Kanyakumari and was built in 1970 to honor Swami Vivekananda.
