Pakistani YouTuber and comedian Aun Ali Khosa has been released after allegedly being abducted by intelligence agencies for singing a parody song critical of the Shehbaz Sharif government. Khosa's release was confirmed by his lawyer in Punjab province on Monday.
Khosa, who criticized soaring electricity bills and other issues in his song "Bill Bill Pakistan," was among three social media activists from Imran Khan's PTI party who reportedly went missing. The other activists, Naeem Ahmad Yasin and Arsalan Akbar, remain missing, with their families declaring them as ''missing persons.''
The Lahore High Court had intervened, directing the Punjab police chief to recover Khosa by August 20, amid growing concerns over forced disappearances. The PTI and Amnesty International have condemned these actions, calling for an end to the abduction of citizens.
