The bodies of a young couple, Sandeep Tiwari (22) and Pooja (25), were discovered in a sub-mountain forest area in Chohal village, Punjab, police confirmed.
Tiwari was found hanging from a tree, while Pooja's body lay near its base. They were identified as migrants from Uttar Pradesh, currently residing in Jalandhar.
Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Sarbjit Singh Bahia indicated that a suspected love affair may have led to their tragic demise. Investigations are ongoing, with awaiting post-mortem results to confirm the cause of death.
