A family in Kapurpur village has allegedly taken their own lives due to continuous harassment from bank recovery agents over an unpaid loan, police reported on Monday.

The incident, which occurred in the Sapnavat village, involved Sanjeev Rana (48), his wife Premvati (45), and their 18-year-old daughter Payal. They were reportedly pressured after failing to repay a loan of about Rs 5 lakh taken for their children's education, according to Kapurpur Station House Officer Avnish Sharma.

The tragic event unfolded on the night of August 31 when five recovery agents reportedly threatened the family. The family's two minor sons were not home at the time.
