Chief Minister M K Stalin inaugurated a state-of-the-art industrial housing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sriperumbudur on Saturday. He highlighted Tamil Nadu's impressive 42 percent women employment rate, the highest in the country.

The Rs 706.50 crore facility, which can accommodate 18,720 employees, was opened with the presence of Young Liu, chairman of the Taiwan-based Foxconn Hon Hai Technology Group. Built on 20 acres, the facility consists of 13 blocks with ten floors each, marking a first-of-its-kind project in India.

Stalin emphasized that the project would serve as an example for other states and reiterated Tamil Nadu's goal of achieving a one trillion-dollar economy by 2030. Foxconn already has two units in Sriperumbudur, employing around 41,000 people, with women constituting 35,000 of the workforce.
