Maharashtra Approves High-Tech Mega Projects Boosting Economy

The Maharashtra government has greenlit four high-tech mega projects, collectively worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore, which are expected to generate 29,000 jobs across Marathwada, Vidarbha, Pune, and Panvel near Mumbai.
The cabinet subcommittee of the industries department made the decision on Thursday evening, according to officials. Investments will be directed towards sectors like semiconductors and electric vehicle manufacturing, positioning Maharashtra as a leader in the EV sector, per a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Friday.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized that these projects will cultivate a robust local supply chain and significantly advance technical innovation, research, and development. Additionally, they will provide training and skill development opportunities for local labor, boosting employability and technical skills for new technologies.
