At the 2024 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Kartik Aaryan and Vikrant Massey emerged as standout winners, showcasing the remarkable talent within Indian cinema.
Kartik Aaryan was honored with the best actor award for his powerful role as Paralympic gold medallist Murlikant Petkar in 'Chandu Champion'. Vikrant Massey earned the best performance of the year (critics) award for his portrayal of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma in '12th Fail'.
The award ceremony, held at the historic Palais Theatre in Melbourne, also celebrated other significant contributions in film and OTT, including Parvathy Thiruvothu's best actress trophy for 'Ullozhukku', Kiran Rao's 'Laapataa Ladies' for best film (critics choice), and the breakout film of the year for Imtiaz Ali's 'Amar Singh Chamkila'.
