Tom Blyth and Emily Bader Star in Adaptation of Emily Henry’s Hit Novel

Actors Tom Blyth and Emily Bader will play best friends in a film adaptation of Emily Henry’s best-selling novel 'People We Meet on Vacation'. Produced by Sony Pictures for Netflix, the movie will be directed by Brett Haley. The novel sold over 2 million copies and topped the New York Times bestseller list.

Actors Tom Blyth and Emily Bader are set to star as best friends in a film adaptation of Emily Henry's acclaimed novel ''People We Meet on Vacation''. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Blyth, 29, renowned for his work in ''The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes'', and Bader, 27, the lead of ''My Lady Jane'', will portray Alex and Poppy, respectively.

The narrative will explore the dynamic between the two friends who vacation together every summer until a two-year communication break changes everything. Henry's novel, published by Berkley Books in 2021, achieved significant success, selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. and debuting at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Sony Pictures is partnering on the adaptation and plans to offer Netflix the first look under its streaming collaboration terms. The movie will be directed by Brett Haley, known for ''The Hero'' and ''Hearts Beat Loud'', with a screenplay adaptation by Yulin Kuang. Temple Hill's Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner will produce the film.
