SriLankan Airlines, the National Carrier of Sri Lanka and a member of the prestigious Oneworld alliance, clinched a Gold Award in the 'Marketing-Carrier' category at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Awards 2024. The ceremony, held on August 28, 2024, at Bangkok's Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, recognized the airline's 'Colours of Jaffna' campaign for its global marketing impact.

The 'Colours of Jaffna' campaign is noteworthy for being the first by any Sri Lankan entity to exclusively spotlight the vibrant north of the island. Launched at a timely moment, with CNN recently naming Jaffna as one of Asia's most underrated destinations, the campaign highlighted Jaffna's unique cultural and historical attributes and achieved over 14 million social media impressions and 500,000 engagements.

Saminda Perera, Head of Marketing for SriLankan Airlines, expressed gratitude for the support from the management, partners, and team. He emphasized the airline's commitment to presenting Sri Lanka in novel ways, a sentiment echoed by the campaign's success. The visual aspects of the campaign captured Jaffna's rich heritage, striking architecture, colorful festivals, and exquisite cuisine, encouraging an immersive travel experience.
