Shooting of Bengali television serials resumed in studios around Kolkata on Wednesday, following the end of a directors' cease work, which was intervened by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Studios buzzed back to life with directors, actors, and technicians returning to work. According to a spokesperson from the West Bengal Motion Pictures Artists Forum, shooting across different studios recommenced, and production of films and web series is set to resume shortly.

Federation of Cine Technicians' Workers of Eastern India (FCTWEI) President Swarup Biswas credited Banerjee for her role in resolving the issue. He announced the formation of a high-powered committee including notable figures like Goutam Ghosh, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Arup Biswas to address the industry's concerns.

Earlier, the cease work began as technicians refused to work under a debarred filmmaker, Rahool Mukherjee. The disruption highlighted the need for a cohesive effort among all stakeholders, from directors to technical crew, ensuring smooth resumption of projects.
