Like many across the country, actor Ankita Lokhande is brimming with excitement for Ganesh Chaturthi. She commenced the celebrations by bringing home the Ganesha idol. On Friday evening, Ankita and her mother were spotted collecting the idol from pandals in Mumbai.

During the festivities, Ankita shared well-wishes with her fans. Speaking to the media, she said, 'When Ganpati Bappa arrives, he brings happiness. I sincerely hope that all your wishes come true. Ganpati Bappa Moraya.'

Similarly, Sambhavna Seth and Avinash Dwivedi also celebrated by bringing the idol home. Ganesh Chaturthi, a revered ten-day festival, begins on the fourth day of the Hindu lunisolar month 'Bhadrapada' and concludes on 'Anantha Chaturdashi.' Known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayak Chavithi,' the festival worships Ganesha as the 'God of New Beginnings' and the 'Remover of Obstacles.' Mumbai, in particular, sees an influx of devotees visiting mandals to seek blessings.

For the celebrations, devotees bring Lord Ganesha idols to their homes, observe fasts, make delicious food, and visit pandals. On the career front, Ankita Lokhande is set to star in a new web series titled 'Amrapali,' in collaboration with filmmaker Sandeep Singh.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Sandeep Singh announced Aktia's casting as the iconic 'nagarvadhu' Amrapali, praising her strength, grace, and resilience. The series will explore Amrapali's journey from being an imperial courtesan to becoming a Buddhist nun, depicting her emotional and challenging journey. Fans can look forward to this grand series, produced by Legend Studios and featuring musical maestro Ismail Darbar's highly anticipated return. (ANI)
