Chandra Kumar Bose, grandnephew of the legendary freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose, on Sunday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to repatriate Netaji's mortal remains from Japan's Renkoji by August 18.

Bose urged the central government to issue a definitive statement on the matter to put an end to "false narratives" surrounding Netaji's death.

He highlighted the NDA government's efforts to declassify files related to Netaji, revealing that Netaji perished in a plane crash on August 18, 1945, in Taiwan. This declassification has exposed secret files and documents, conclusively establishing Netaji's demise in the crash.
