Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Sunday that Guru Purnima will be celebrated annually in all schools and colleges across the state. The announcement was made during a program at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in Indore.

Yadav emphasized the critical role that gurus play in guiding their disciples from ignorance to enlightenment, underscoring that respect for teachers is a core aspect of Indian tradition and culture. 'The grand festival of Guru Purnima will be celebrated in all schools and colleges in the state every year,' he declared.

Highlighting the significance of the guru-shishya tradition, Yadav noted that gurus not only provide education but also instill values of justice and righteousness. The chief minister also honored teachers and former vice-chancellors during the event.
