In a tragic incident on National Highway 93 in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, 15 people, including women and children, lost their lives after a roadways bus hit their van from behind, officials reported on Friday.
Thirteen individuals sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at a government hospital. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed local officials to handle relief measures and ensure proper medical care for the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu expressed condolences and announced financial assistance for the victims' families.
Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal stated that the accident occurred near Kanwarpur village as the bus attempted to overtake the van on the Agra-Aligarh highway. The deceased have been identified, and both state and national leaders have pledged support for the families affected by this heartbreaking incident.
