Delhi residents may face delays in boarding the highly-anticipated Mohalla buses, as the transport department is finalizing routes and awaiting vehicle deliveries. According to officials, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) are set to begin trial runs on two new routes: Indian Airline Colony/Priya Cinema to Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station and Lok Kalyan Marg to Vasant Vihar.

The trial runs on the routes from Pradhan Enclave Pushta to Majlis Park Metro Station and Akshardham Metro Station to Mayur Vihar Phase III Paper Market are already underway, providing valuable insights.

Despite the progress, delays in the arrival of buses have pushed the launch from August to mid-September. The buses, painted green and equipped with six battery packs, offer a range of over 200 km. They feature 23 passenger seats, including six reserved for women, and a standing capacity of 13. The government plans to deploy a total of 2,080 buses by 2025, with 1,040 operated by the DTC and the rest by DIMTS.
