Loyola High School (HS) and Vidya Valley set the tone by winning all their matches on the inaugural day of the Loyola Football Cup 2024, held at the Loyola HS ground in Pashan on Thursday. Both teams exhibited dominance in the Under-12, 14, and 16 age groups.
Loyola HS had an impressive start, with the Under-16 team crushing St. Xavier's School 8-0. Key players included Arnav Jagtap, scoring a brace, alongside Aditya Dasmana and Parth Shinde each contributing with two goals. Additional goals came from Anay Dambal and Shubham Chaudhary. The Under-14 and Under-12 teams also secured decisive wins with scores of 5-1 and 5-0 against St. Xavier's, respectively.
Vidya Valley mirrored this success, achieving a commanding 6-0 victory over Hume McHenry in the Under-12 section. Anish Parihar was a standout, netting three goals. Suvan Ghosh, Yuvaan Lohiya, and Malhar Deshmukh each added a goal. Vidya Valley continued their winning streak in the Under-14 category with a 2-0 win and concluded with a 5-1 triumph in the Under-16 category.
