Russian Official Presses NGOs on Pavel Durov's Detention in France
Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova queried Western NGOs about their stance on the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov by French police at an airport near Paris. Zakharova used the Telegram messaging app to question whether the NGOs would demand Durov's release.
Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, on Sunday questioned whether Western non-governmental organizations (NGOs) will pressure French authorities to release Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, who was reportedly detained by police at an airport near Paris.
Zakharova utilized the Telegram messaging app to voice her concerns, circulating a photograph of several Western NGOs.
"Do you think they will appeal to Paris and demand Durov's release, or keep their lips sealed?" Zakharova asked in her post, raising questions about the NGOs' actions.
