Ukraine's Drone Assaults: A Call for Stronger Western Arms
Ukraine carried out overnight drone attacks on Moscow and other targets in Russia, urging the U.S. for permission to use more powerful allied weapons. Multiple drones were intercepted over different Russian regions, causing no reported injuries. Ukraine aims to disrupt Russia's war infrastructure with these attacks.
Ukraine has unleashed a series of overnight drone attacks targeting Moscow and multiple locations across Russia, escalating its military actions while appealing to the U.S. for permission to use more potent allies-supplied weaponry.
In the region surrounding the Russian capital, at least five drones were intercepted and destroyed, according to Moscow's Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Additionally, 26 drones launched by Ukraine were downed in the Bryansk border region in Russia's southwest, as confirmed by regional governor Alexander Bogomaz.
Further reports indicate that more than ten drones were neutralized in the Voronezh region and several others in Kursk, Lipetsk, Ryazan, and Tula regions. Preliminary information suggests no injuries or significant damage from these attacks. Ukraine's burgeoning domestic drone industry has enabled Kyiv to intensify its strikes aimed at disrupting Russia's energy, military, and transport infrastructure.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's top officials visited Washington last week to advocate for the need for more formidable Western arms to severely impair Moscow's war capabilities.
