Chief Minister Pushes for Infrastructure Development to Drive Trillion-Dollar Economy Ambition
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed the Maharashtra Institute of Transformation (MITRA) to prioritize infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, environment, and energy sectors to achieve a trillion-dollar economy. New initiatives, funded by the World Bank, were launched to support district-level development and flood control, with a focus on innovative farming and climate change.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has tasked the Maharashtra Institute of Transformation (MITRA) with concentrating efforts on key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, health, education, environment, and energy to drive the state towards a trillion-dollar economy.
Shinde emphasized the significance of these sectors in guaranteeing the general prosperity of Maharashtra and the well-being of its citizens, according to a statement from the CM's office on Monday.
In a think-tank meeting, Shinde unveiled the Institutional Capacity Building Project, financed with USD 188 million from the World Bank, supporting district-level development. He also introduced the Maharashtra Responsive Development Program, receiving USD 400 million from the World Bank to curb floods in the Krishna Bhima basin.
